Mt Fuji and surrounds

After Disneyland in Tokyo, we spent the day out visiting some of the surrounding areas to try view Mount Fuji. We managed to catch it without any cloud and haze initially, but it quickly settled in limiting photo opportunities. Would love to come here without the family for a dedicated photography trip, but that will have to wait.

In hindsight, if you want to get decent photos of Mount Fuji, you need to be out at sunrise in the right locations. As the day moves on, the cloud and haze starts to build around Mt Fuji, and as result, the photos get worse.

I would recommend staying somewhere on the far side of Lake Kawaguchi so you have access to sunrise photos across the lake. This is also a short dive from Chureito Pagoda so it offers you morning and late afternoon access if required.
